<p>PURPOSE:To enhance energy efficiency to a large extent by performing treatment at relatively low temp., in a NOX removal method, by contacting exhaust gas with coal. CONSTITUTION:NOX-containing exhaust gas is contacted with coal and NOX is reduced to N2 by C in coal. In this case, the non-carbonized substance in coal contributes to reduction. Contact temp. of about 350-600 deg.C sufficient in usual and a contact time is affected to a large extent by temp. but space velocity is set to about 500-1,500hr<-1>. As coal to be used, one as low as possible in a coal rank is desirable. Because NOX removal is performed at relatively low temp., energy efficiency is enhanced.</p> |
