PURPOSE:To improve durability and increase safety by preventing the formation of a bent part at the contact edge with the continuous long-fiber boss part for reinforcing the spoke part of a steering wheel. CONSTITUTION:The core body of a steering wheel which consists of a rim part, spoke part, and a boss part is formed by winding a prescribed amount of high-tension glass fiber impregnated with unsaturated polyester resin. Then, said core body is taken-out from a taking-up jig, and a steering wheel is transferred onto a shaping mold, and heated and pressed at a prescribed temperature and under a pressure, and a steering wheel 1 can be obtained. The spoke part 4 for connecting the rim part 2 and the boss part 3 is formed by nipping the spoke part 4 by using the upper and lower shaping molds 5 having a bent nearly semicircular groove and applying pressure is the direction of arrow. |
