Blood sampling apparatus, particularly for veterinary use, is supplied as a ready-assembled unit comprising an evacuated tube (1) with a stopper (2) and a needle holder (3) in which a hollow needle or cannula (4) is secured, the stopper (2) having a head (5) with an external diameter not greater than the external diameter of the tube (1), and the needle holder (3) having a skirt (6) whose interior is adapted to embrace the exterior of the tube (1), particularly by means of longitudinal ribs (7) on the holder (3) which frictionally engage the tube (1) surface, but nevertheless to allow the tube (1) to slide inside the holder (3) under manual pressure. The assembled unit is short enough to be held in one hand with fingers gripping the cap (9) of the holder. |
