PURPOSE:To check a printing position easily and accurately, by providing a test printing mode for printing a printing position confirming figure pattern on a label at the same position and in the same size as those of printing information, in addition to a printing mode for printing characters or the like on the label. CONSTITUTION:With a printing command signal (d) given to a printing controller 13, data stored in a print image RAM16 are outputted as a PIX IN signal to perform printing, and a label 1 printed with an article name or the like is issued. In this case, since the controller 13 does not output any selecting signal, the test printing mode is so performed that printing is conducted on the basis of data stored in a test printing image ROM17. In this operation, the PIX IN signal is constituted of the data read from the test print image ROM17 instead of the data read from the print image RAM16. Namely, figure patterns 18 are printed on the label 1 in the test printing mode, whereby the printing position is cheked. |
