The alarm comprises a frequency modulated transmitter controlled by a silent alarm button at the site, and a compatible receiver at the local police station. A transmission, initiated by pressing the button, includes a coded call sign identifying the premises followed by voice signals from a microphone placed so that the police can monitor the event. - The coded identity signal can be stored as ASC11 data in ROM. At the police station, the receiver is equipped with an ASC11 decoder so that the location of the alarm can be displayed, as an alarm sound signal is activated. ADVANTAGE - False alarm is very unlikely, promoting immediate response without verification, and recording proceedings is helpful in detecting and prosecuting criminals.
