<p>Psycho-drugs of basic and neutral type are recovered from biological material e.g. blood, by (a) prepn. of a complexing agent consisting of one of several salts, alkali hydroxide and buffer to give pH 8-12; (b) mixing the synaptic agent and a salt; (c) adding the complexing agent to the blood, stirring for 1 min., and adding a metal salt which pptes. the synaptic agent; (d) adding a quat. mixt. of organic solvents, stirring for 10 mins., centrifuging at 3000 rpm, extn. of the organic phase with a Pasteur pipette, filtering and washing.</p> |
