PURPOSE:To prevent high-temperature spatters from scattering violently as a flash at the time of welding by providing a power source device for supplying a high-frequency heating current and a low-frequency welding current to a material to be welded, and a frequency switching device added to the power source device. CONSTITUTION:A titled device is constituted so that electrodes 2, 3 are installed to both end parts of a material to be welded 1 provided with a gap G, a frequency switching device 6 is added to a power source device 5 of the primary side, and heating and welding currents are supplied to the material through the electrodes 2, 3 from a transformer 4. In this regard, as for the device 5, an invertor device which can select optionally a frequency is used. In case of welding, a high-frequency heating current is made to flow to the electrode 2, 3, and when both the end parts of the material 1 reach a prescribed temperature, it is switched to a low-frequency welding current and welding is executed by pressing both the end parts of the material 1. In this way, it is prevented that high temperature spatters becomes a flash and scatters at the time of flash butt welding, and the heating efficiency is improved remarkably. |
