PURPOSE:To obtain a photo-recording element capable of highly reliable high- density recording by a method in which at least one of A-layer, B-layer and a light absorptive layer is made up of the monomolecular film or its laminate film of constituent substances and a reflection film is further provided. CONSTITUTION:A laminate consisting of A-layer 2 of a leuco dye, B-layer 4 of a phenolic compound and a light absorptive layer 3 of a light absorptive substance which is provided between the A- and B-layers 2 and 4 is provided through the B-layer 4 on a reflection layer 30 formed on a substrate 1. In such a constitution, at least one of the A- and B-layers and the layer 2, 4 and 3 is made up of the monomolecular film or its laminate film of constituent substances and the other layer is formed of deposit films. The leuco dye of the A-layer is contacted with the phenolic compound of the B-layer by irradiation of infrared rays and a chromogenic reaction proceeds to form color points at given positions. Information can thus be recorded. |
