<p>The belts are made from extensible rubberised fabric (A), low-stretch high-strength cords (B) and unvulcanised rubber sheet (C), by (a) rolling (A) around the periphery of a toothed cylindrical mould; (b) winding (B) over (A) followed by a set thickness of (C); (c) fitting a sleeve over the assembly; (d) applying heat and pressure to produce a moulded toothed belt; (e) removing from the mould; (f) trimming; (g) sepg. the rubber from the belt; (h) fitting the belt over adjustable toothed pulleys; (i) forming several protective beads and channels in the belt; (j) fitting upper and lower toothed segments of a press mould over the pulleys (k) coating the cords with an adhesive (l) sticking (C) and several layers of (A) over the cords; (m) coupling the mould segments with the pulleys by means of pins and locating holes; (o) vulcanising the assembly in a press; and (p) removing the mould from the press. Operations (i) to (o) are repeated to obtain a vulcanised double-timing belt.</p> |
