PURPOSE:To give good-quality transfer recording even to recording mediums having bad surface smoothness by a method in which an ink layer and a thermoplastic resin layer are orderly laminated on a supporter and the ink layer is provided in the form of linear ink with dispersed magnetic powder. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal transfer recording material, a liquid ink layer 2 with dispersed magnetic powder is provided on a heat-resistant supporter 1, and a thermoplastic resin layer 3 is laminated on the ink layer 2. The magnetic powder 2b as the constituent element of the ink layer 2 is one known as ferromagnetic materials in general, having an average grain size of 0.001-5mum, preferably 0.002-3mum. As a dispersant 2a to be used, a solution or dispersion of a colorant, e.g., dye or pigment, in a liquid substance may be cited. The use of the liquid ink with dispersed magnetic powder enables the ink to permeate into the depressions of the surface of recording medium. |
