1288535 Shrimp hatchery STERNCO INDUSTRIES Inc 29 June 1971 [1 April 1971] 30300/71 Heading A1A The eggs of shrimps intended for live fish food are placed in brine in tank 15 and when hatched the shrimps swim into a collecting cup 18 attracted by the light from a lamp 51 visible only through gap 45 between upper portion 28 of the cup and its movable base portion 29. The shrimps are removed in the cup 18 by raising rod 37 attached to the base portion 29 to close the bottom of the cup and lift it out of the tank, the water draining out through screen 40 in the base portion 29. Rod 37 slides through a hub held by radial arms 34 in the upper portion of the cup and is restrained from complete removal by stop 46. The end of the rod is fixed in boss 43 held by radial arms 42 in base portion 29. The cup 18 is supported by its flange 44 resting on flange 27 inside wall 24 depending around aperture 25 from the lid 16 of the tank. The lid also supports pipe 48 carrying a stone 49 through which the tank is aerated. |
