PURPOSE:To obtain a photo-recording medium capable of writing and erasing by simple operations by forming a thin film composed of a metal and an electron acceptor with cyano group on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:A thin film composed of a metal and an electron acceptor with cyano group is formed on a substrate 1 by a physical or chemical vapor deposition method, and the substrate 1 is heated during or after the vapor deposition to form the thin film of a metal salt on the substrate 1. A protective film 3 is usually provided on the thin film (recording layer 2) of the metal salt so obtained. As a material to be used in the layer 3, any type of ones having a high mechanical strength, nonreactivity to the recording layer 2, and good covering property may be used. Writing or erasing is made by irradiation of lasers to the recording medium. |
