<p>The imidazole deriv. of formula (I) is made by (a) treating (benzol-1,4-dioxane-2-yl) acetonitrile with ammonia in ethanol or methanol under pressure to give the amidine; (b) reacting this with an acetal of the halo-acetaldehyde of formula (II) in which X is Cl or Br, and R is -CH(OCH3)2 or -CH(OCH2CH3)2; (c) cyclising the prod. with ethyl bromide in presence of sodium methyl sulphenyl methylene in DMSO to obtain (I).</p> |
