PURPOSE:To stabilize the circuit operation with simple circuit configuration by sequentially sorting half waves of a single phase AC power source into (n) pieces of phases, and forming symmetrical polyphase voltages of 360/n deg. different in phase with the frequency of 1/n of power source. CONSTITUTION:The half waves of power source voltage waveform 1 are sorted by a semiconductor switching element to produce 3 different voltage waveforms (2, 3 and 4) at 120 deg. of phase with frequency of 1/3. 4-phase or more symmetrical polyphase AC can be formed by the same principle. In the actual circuit, elements TR-1, TR-3, TR2 are sequentially fired to obtain 3-phase output voltage at the respective loads. The magnitude of the output voltage can be regulated by regulating the firing phase. Since these circuits are communicated by the power source voltage, it does not need forcibly commutation circuit, and the circuit configuration is accordingly simple, and no commutation failure exists, thereby stabilizing the circuit operation. |
