PURPOSE:To obtain an equalizing system from which waveform distortion is eliminated in a short time by estimating characteristics of a transmission line based on a signal for at least one period's share and deciding the initial state of equalizing processing depending on the estimation. CONSTITUTION:In taking a spectrum of a transmitted symbol series from a transmission means 1 as D(omega) (omega is an angular frequency) and a waveform shaping spectrum as R1(omega), the transmitted symbol series are D(omega) and R1(omega). In taking spectrums of a transmission line 2 and a reception filter 6 as C(omega) and R2(omega) respectively, the output spectrums of the reception filter 6 is given as D(omega).R1(omega).R2(omega).C(omega). At least one period's share of signal is transmitted ahead the transmission of effective data and the equalizing algorithm is this embodiment. The signal for one period's share is decided in advance and know at the reception side. The signal is not subjected to distortion in the transmission line 2, and a signal of the same symbol series at the transmission side and the signal D(omega).R(omega) converted to the frequency region is used as the reference signal. |
