PURPOSE:To enable to give the titled body effective cross-section by a method wherein a resin-impregnated fiber bundle is sufficiently degassed by squeezing the resin-impregnated fiber bundle through shifting clamped rings in order to remove gas bubbles within the bundle. CONSTITUTION:Firstly, thread-like fiber reinforcing material impregnated with resin solution 8 is wound on the hooks of a take-up jig until a resin-impregnated fiber bundle with the predetermined side is obtained. Secondly, rings 7 are installed on the linear part of the bundle in a space between the hooks 4 in such a manner as to clamp the resin-impregnated fiber bundle 5. Finally, the resin-impregnated fiber bundle is squeezed through the rings shifted in order to remove gas bubbles within the bundle. Roving or yarn of carbon fiber, glass fiber, or the like is employed as the thread-like fiber. Thermosetting resin such as epoxy resin, unsaturated polyester resin, phenolic resin or the like is employed as the resin. Circular ring or almost circular ring made of metal, synthetic resin, rubber or the like can be employed as the ring 7. In addition, the selection of the ring gives the resin-impregnated fiber bundle effective cross- sectional form and remarkably improves the strength characteristics of the bundle. |
