PURPOSE:To manufacture a two-layer structure product described in the title which is excellent in lubricating property and which tolerates a heavy load, by spreading Al powder or a mixt. of Si-Al alloy powder with a lubricant or with matrix-reinforcing material on the surface of a steel sheet which has been cleaned and roughened, then by rolling and sintering the spread layer. CONSTITUTION:Steel sheet strip 1 uncoiled from a coil 1a is led into a washing machine 2, where it is cleaned at the surfaces thereof, then it is roughened by a grinding machine 3 such as a sander etc. On the surface of the strip is spread from a spreading machine 4 Al powder, or a mixt. of Si-Al alloy powder, which contains 0.5-6% Si, with a lubricating material (e.g., Pb-Sn alloy, graphite) or with a matrix-reinforcing material (pref., 4% Si-1% Cu-10% Pb-1% Sn-Al) to form a layer 5. The layer 5 is rolled by a roller 6, sintered by a sintering machine 7 in order to convert the layer 5 into metal, thereby forming a bearing layer 8. |
