PURPOSE:To improve the color reproducibility of a color toner by using a specific resin for a liquid developer and dispersing finely an org. pigment into said developer. CONSTITUTION:The resin polymerized with the monomer A expressed by formula I (R is H or -CH3, X is -COOCnH2n+1 or -O-COCnH2n+1, n is 6-20) and the monomer B of formula II (R1 is -H or -CH3, n is 1-20, R2 is -H, Na, K, Mg, Mn, Ca, etc.) is used. Such copolymer is mixed with a coloring agent and the mixture is dispersed by an attritor, etc. together with petroleum aliphat. hydrocarbon to prepare a concd. toner. The component A in the copolymer has the property to solvent with a solvent before and after the polymn. and therefore the copolymer is dispersed in the state of bonding the component A solvent with the solvent around the component B. The component B is polar and induces the charge generation of the polymer. The above-mentioned developer can be made to have small particle diameters in a narrow grain size range. The excellent color reproducibility as the color toner is thus obtd. and the dispersion stability, shelf life, fixability, brightness, etc. are improved as the developer for general purposes. |
