PURPOSE:To normally feed a recording sheet by eliminating any jamming of the sheet produced upon its passing between feed rollers by operating a member of pushing up a bottom plate of a cassette when a frontal part of the cassette reaches a prescribed insertion position by the actuation of an operating member. CONSTITUTION:A cassette 10 to house a recording sheet is horizontally inserted into a paper feed part, and a frontal end edge of the cassette 10 is, just before the cassette 10 reaches a prescribed insertion position, brought into contact with a projection part 9A of an operation member 9. A notched portion 9B of the member 9 is disengaged from a projection part 4 of a cassette bottom plate push-up member 3, which member 3 is then positioned interiorly of an opening part in the bottom of the frontal end part of the cassette 10 in a direction of insertion thereof, and it pushes the lowermost recording sheet among a bundle of recording sheets while it brings the uppermost recording sheet into close contact with feed rollers located on the body side of a copying machine. Hereby, the member 3 is operated only when the cassette 10 reaches a prescribed position to push the recording sheet upwardly for permitting the sheet to make contact with the feed rollers, whereby an jamming can be prevented from being produced. |
