The effective surface area of complex articles to be electroplated is determined by an operational amplifier which receives on its input the following signals: (a) reading of a layer thickness measuring device ; (b) d.c. voltage proportional to the current; (c) d.c. voltage proportional to plating time; (d) d.c. voltage proportional to plating factor. The amplifier processes these according to Faraday's laws and produces an output voltage proportional to the galvanically effective surface area. |
