Title cpds. are of formula (I): (where R1 is lower alkyl, lower alkenyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or acyl; R2 and R3 are H or lower alkyl; R4 is H or 1-8C alkyl; or R3 + R4 can form a 4-6C spirocycloalkyl or 6-8C spirobicycloalkyl ring) and their salts, including the tautomeric 2-aminothiazoline form of (I; R2=H). They may be prepd. by (a) reacting R1NCS with R2NH-CR3R4-C triple bond CH to give R1NH-CS-NR2-CR3R4-C triple bond CH (II) and cyclising, or (b) reacting R1NH2 with SCN-CR3R4-C triple bond CH to give (IV; R2=H) and cyclising.
