The band of air tubes interconnect an inlet windbox and a discharge plenum. The gases from the boiler enter through an inlet and towards the air heater in three passes before entering the condensing section and are then exhausted through the flue. Condensate from the gases is evacuated through a drain. Combustion air is drawn from outside the room, into the furnace through the chamber where it is pre-heated on cooling the condensate. The air flow is fan assisted.
