PURPOSE:To protect a step from muddy water and snow, by horizontally turning a guide rail in conjunction with the opening and closing motion of a sliding door so as to move the step in and out to put it away when it is not in use. CONSTITUTION:When a sliding door is being opened beyond a prescribed quantity, a guide link 13 turns a guide rail 9 outwards as to the body of a vehicle about a pivotally coupled portion 10 so that a movable step 6 is turned downwards out of a put-away state through an action converting means 15. When the sliding door is fully opened, the step 6 is maintained in a horizontal used state. When the sliding door is being closed, the movable step 6 is turned upwards and maintained in the put-away state. After that, the sliding door is entirely closed. |
