PURPOSE:To make intermittent operation of a wiper optimum, by intermittently driving the wiper with a set rest period during running of a vehicle, and driving the wiper with a longer rest period as computed on the basis of the above set rest period when the vehicle is continuously stopped for a time longer than a predetermined time. CONSTITUTION:When intermittent operation signal S1 of a wiper is output by a wiper switch during running, the wiper is intermittently operated with a set rest period Ta. When selection signal S3 is output by a selector switch, a microcomputer operates to continue the intermittent operation of the wiper during running. When a vehicle is stopped, the microcomputer operates to continue the intermittent operation of the wiper with the above set rest period at first. Thereafter, if the vehicle is continuously stopped even after a predetermined time Tb is elapsed, the microcomputer computes a longer rest period TaXx on the basis of the above set rest period Ta to carry out the intermittent operation of the wiper with the rest period computed. |
