PURPOSE:To control the quantity of thermal diffusion and to form uniformly a plating layer in a prescribed phase state by subjecting a wire-shaped body to plating into multiple layers then to thermal diffusion and detecting the characteristic X-rays of the formed alloy plating layer by an X-ray fluorometric instrument. CONSTITUTION:The X-ray fluorometric instrument 11 is disposed behind a thermal diffusion device 8 to detect the characteristic X-rays of the alloy plating components coated on the surface of the wire-shaped body 9 supplied from a let-off reel 1 in a continuous alloy plating stage for the wire-shaped body consisting in plating continuously >=2 kinds of different metals into a laminar state onto the body 2 in metal plating devices 3, 4, passing the same to the device 8 after rinsing 6 and drying 7 to subject the wire-shaped body to the thermal diffusion treatment and coiling the resultant wire-shaped body 9 subjected to the alloy plating on a take-up roll 10. The quantity of the thermal diffusion is controlled by a microcomputer 12 and a control device 13 for the thermal diffusion according to the fluctuation in the intensity ratio of such X-rays. The phase state of the intended degree of the diffusion is thus obtd. uniformly in the longitudinal direction of the body 9. |
