Interchangeable picture frame for pictures of different thickness

The interchangeable picture frame has resilient clamping bars (2) holding the back wall (3) with the picture. The clamping bar (2) passes through an opening (7) of a U-shaped fastening element (8) anchored on the backwall (3) and can be pushed by the picture edge (10) towards the middle of the picture. A detent (9) interacts with the fastening element in the holding position. The end of the clamping bar facing the centre of the picture is formed by a bent area (11) from which two spring-tension arms (12,13) extend. The first arm has the detent whilst the second arm runs in the use position between the first arm and the back wall and is supported on this back wall by its end area (14) pointing towards the edge of the picture.
