The device consists of a T-shaped pipe piece (1) onto which can be placed a fixture which has a base plate (2) and a housing (7) which can swivel relative thereto. This housing (7) contains two chambers (8, 9), one for holding the peg (1d) closing the branching piece (1b) of the T-piece and the other in which a support (16) carrying the measurement device can be displaced parallel to the axis (33) of the branching piece (1b). A first securing device (28, 29, 30) ensures that the chamber (8) which is used for holding the peg (1d) cannot be opened as long as it is located above the opening (2a) of the baseplate (2). A second locking device prevents downwards movement of the support (16) as long as the second chamber (9) is not located above the opening (2a) in the baseplate (2). The two safety devices act independently from one another to prevent the housing rotating back into the original position as long as the support (16) and the closing slide (10) from the chamber (8) are not moved back to their original position.
