<p>A method for killing cells, which comprises bringing a material having live cells into contact with a conductor-free photo-semiconductor or a cell-killing material containing the semiconductor, and irradiating the photo-semiconductor with light to kill the live cells, and a cell-killing agent containing the conductor-free photo-semiconductor. The photo-semiconductor is relatively inexpensive, since it does not contain any conductor, and can be safely used for sterilization of drinking water, foods, human body, etc., since it does not release poisonous metal ion derived from the conductor.</p> |
