An apparatus for bending and installing the S-spring wire of S-spring push buttons, which consists of a bending station (12) for bending a straight piece of spring wire into a double S shape on a bending core (30), of an installation station (15) and of a transfer device (14) which transfers the S-spring wire from the bending station to the installation station and has at least one driver (13), is to be designed in such a way that there is more time available for the bending operation within each working cycle and that the S-spring wire is reliably prevented from jumping off its respective holding device. To this end, the invention envisages that the bending core (30) should be part of the driver (13). In the arrangement according to the invention, the transfer of the spring wire from the bending core (30) to a separate driver at the bending station (12) is therefore eliminated, thus making almost the entire duration of a working cycle available for bending. <IMAGE>
