The invention relates to an apparatus for flushing a toilet bowl, comprising a first container with first members, by means of which the contents of the container can be emptied into the toilet bowl. The invention is characterised by a second container, which is larger, in particular substantially larger, than the first container, into which used water from a bath tub or the like, but not waste water from the toilet, can be channelled, and from which the used water flows into the first container after the latter has been emptied. The invention is also characterised by two members by means of which, optionally, fresh water can be used for flushing.
