A geometrically-variable intrauterine pessary is described for adaptation to the uterine cavity, possessing a rod portion with flexible side-arms, which consists of plastic material. If necessary, the rod portion has a spiral wound round it, especially made of copper, has a securing device for a cord, is directly adapted to the uterine cavity and is characterized by the fact that it consists of a basic element and a locating cylinder, that the basic element is firmly coupled with the locating cylinder, that, as a result of the firm coupling, the locating cylinder can be moved in the direction of its longitudinal axis against the basic element and that the rod portion possesses a coupling part in which, during adaptation, an adaptation device can be engaged, and subsequently be removed. By rotating the locating cylinder after insertion, the expansion of the side-arms can be adapted as desired to the shape of the uterine cavity.
|
