PURPOSE:To prevent the wear of a thin band in a head sliding part by providing a fused glass accumulating recessed part and a guide path, which guides a fused glass to form the thin band, in the joint part of a protective plate to a head forming structure body. CONSTITUTION:A recessed part 12 and a minute step part 13 as the fused glass guide path are formed on a joint part 11 of a protective plate 10 to a head forming structure body 15, and a glass 14 as an adhesive is buried in the recessed part 12. When the step part 13 of the protective plate 10 is joined to the structure body 15 in accordance with an MR head pattern of the structure body 15 and is heated, the glass 14 is sucked into a gap 14' by the capillary phenomenon to form the thin band of sufficient wear resistance. Thus, recesses due to wear of an adhesive plate are not generated, and the reduction of the reproduced output and picking-up of noise are stopped to improve the reliability of the head, and the strength is enhanced to extend the life. |
