The invention relates to a bathtub having arm rests, which has a tub space which is symmetrical to the longitudinal and transverse mid-axis with a central outlet in the tub bottom, in which the tub space is widened in cross-section towards the horizontal tub edge in the region of both tub ends on the longitudinal and transverse sides, forming in each case two arm rests, the two arm rests of one tub end each sloping down towards the longitudinal mid-axis, merging into one another at that point and forming a crease curved convexly towards the tub space at the longitudinal and transverse sides leading onto the tub bottom. Due to the shaping of the sides of the bathtub, an excellent arm support is provided and the upper part of the tub space is widened on all sides in order to achieve a large freedom of movement for the person bathing. The bathtub designed in this manner can nevertheless easily be drawn from steel sheet. <IMAGE>
