In an apparatus for the comminution of garden waste, with a cutter disc (10) which can be driven by a motor, travels beneath a stationary counter-holder (22), and is arranged in a housing chamber (8) which is provided with an ejection channel (4) and into which there opens an input shaft (3), blocked at its lower end by the cutter disc (10), a trouble-free and reliable manner of operation is achieved, independently of the kind of material being comminuted, in that the stationary counter-holder (22) is constructed as a lug projecting radially into the input shaft (3), which has a cross-section approximately corresponding in plan view to the cutter disc (10). The lug has an edge (23) which is parallel to the cutter disc and which cooperates with the blades (13) of the cutter disc (10), and has an edge (24) which bounds this radially inwardly and runs approximately perpendicularly to the plane of the cutter disc. A cylindrical cutter disc shoulder (14), coaxially received on the cutter disc (10), runs past the said edge (24) and has a periphery provided with a conveyor profile (15) leading in the drive direction towards the cutter disc (10) and interrupted by at least one longitudinal groove (18) which runs in its longitudinal direction. <IMAGE> |
