In order to ensure that conveyed materials are not contaminated, the forward part (5') and the return part (5'') of a conveying system with a circulating conveying means (5) are arranged in a trough profile section (1) so as to be vertically offset with respect to one another. The forward parts (5') project partially upwards with respect to the upper trough surface (7) and run in semicircular channels (6). The return parts (5'') on the other hand are recessed in a common groove (4). The trough profile section (1) can be formed by elements (1') which are joined together. <IMAGE>
