摘要 <p>A double row connector is provided having an upper row and a lower row of signal contacts (60, 80) with spring arm contact sections (62, 82) thereof projecting forwardly thereof from horizontal body sections (64, 84) of contact members (60, 80). The contact members (60, 80) also have vertical body sections (66, 86) extending vertically from a side of the horizontal body sections (64, 84) and secured in vertical slots (54, 56) of a dielectric spacer block (40), and the horizontal body sections (64) of upper contacts (60) are disposed adjacent the upper surface (46) of the spacer (40), and of lower contacts (80) are disposed adjacent the lower surface (48). Vertical body sections (66, 86) of the upper and lower contacts (60, 80) alternate along the spacer (40). The upper contact subassembly (200) thus formed is secured to an upper surface (16) of a planar insert (10) having a ground plane (120) secured to its lower surface (18), comprising a lower contact subassembly (210) to form a contact assembly (220). Signal conductors (152) of trilead cables (150) are welded to ferrules (72, 92) of signal contacts (60, 80), which ferrules (72, 92) extend rearwardly from the signal contacts beyond the spacer (40) and are aligned adjacent the planar insert (10). Ground conductors (154) are welded to the ground plane (120). Upper ground contacts (100) are similar to signal contacts (60) with contact sections (102), horizontal body sections (104) and vertical body sections (106), and have tabs (108) extending downward through the planar insert (10) and the ground plane (120) and are bent over securing the upper contact subassembly (200) to the lower contact subassembly (210) and electrically engaging ground plane (120). The entire assembly (220) is overmolded with plastic to form an overmolded contact assembly (230) and a forward housing member (250) may be latchingly secured to the overmolded assembly (230). Contacts (60, 80, 100) for use with the spacer (40) are disclosed.</p>
