Heat is transferred from the hot geothermal brine to a working medium in a secondary circuit for vaporising it to drive prime movers by the steam generated, and said steam of the secondary working medium is subsequently liquefied, its pressure is increased and it is fed back in the circuit within a Rankine process for renewed vaporisation. The brine is depressurised, the steam arising from the brine is condensed and as a result its heat of condensation is transferred to the working medium in the secondary circuit for film boiling of the secondary working medium in series with a multi-stage heating system, and the condensate of the steam from the depressurised brine is preferably fed back continuously by gravity into the flow of brine while it is depressurised.
