Power chain saw

The power saw consists of a chain tongue releasably fastened to the motor housing provided with chain-drive pinion. At least one chain-deflection pinion is mounted on the front end of the chain tongue, and the saw chain is guided without contact with the chain tongue via the chain-drive pinion and the at least one chain-deflection pinion. In order to prevent detrimental temperature increases during prolonged continuous operation and striking of the strand (3') running off the drive pinion, a chain-tensioning pinion (2) is arranged on the chain tongue (1). The chain strand (3') running off the drive pinion (4) is guided via this tensioning pinion (2) spring-mounted on the tongue and pressing against the chain (3). <IMAGE>
