The protective cover is intended for storing a number of documents in the form of a bound book. It comprises a front cover (2), a rear cover (3), and a spine part (4), the inside of which is provided with a layer (5) of thermoplastic synthetic-resin glue. The spine part (4) itself is composed of a thermoplastic. To bind the documents, the thermoplastic spine part (4) is made supple under the effect of the heat, with which the synthetic-resin glue (5) is activated, and can be laid around the documents forming, at the same time, a spine of appropriate thickness and two parallel bending folds. <IMAGE>
