Used as a pressure-independent throughflow-regulating valve is a piston system, in which the piston subdivides the piston chamber into two part regions connected to one another via a flow-throttling zone and influences control ports as a function of supplied pressures counteracted by restoring forces on the piston; the restoring force for the piston is conveyed by way of a compensating member for temperature-dependent expansions.
