The aromatic cyanate, prepd. by reaction of phenols with cyanogen chloride is used to impregnate the cellulose, glass or polyester fibre sheets and the laminate made with heating under pressure. It can be used at high temp. without becoming brittle or losing its electrical resistance. The material does not become porous and can be readily stamped out. The potentiometer strips are made by spraying on a conducting lacquer onto the stamped out strips and curing the laquer.
