PURPOSE:To overlay plural images on an original platen automatically by reading plural images on the original platen individually, and forming their composite image on one sheet of recording paper. CONSTITUTION:When a CPU501 decides on a multiple copy mode set with a key 507, the mode is stored in a RAM503 and a corresponding process program is read out of a ROM502. Then, an intermediate tray direction conveyance path for transfer paper is selected through a multiple flapper. When the arrival of the image head sensor of an optical system is detected, the optical system is stopped and one of originals arranged successively by the optical system is read at the timing where the image head is aligned to the front edge of transfer paper, which is stored in an intermediate tray after the image is transferred. Another image is further formed on this transfer paper by the reading the other original by the optical system after a specific number of clocks is counted after the arrival at the image head sensor is detected, and copying images on the original platen are overlaid automatically. |
