PURPOSE:To prevent a miss of copying by selecting a form size or conversion magnification suitable to the conversion magnification or form size which is set when an original of unfixed size is copied with variable power. CONSTITUTION:When the original is placed on an original platen, an original size detecting device detects the original size. Then, form size is calculated and selected on the basis of the original size and set conversion magnification. Then, it is decided whether an unfixed form mode key 23 is pressed ad when the key is not pressed, copying operation is carried on. When the key is operated, the selected form size is held and the lateral side length A and longitudinal side length B of an unfixed form original is inputted with a lateral side input key 25, longitudinal side input key 26, and ten-key 3. Further, the form size is selected by operating a form size selection key 21 and the length ratios X and Y of lateral sides and longitudinal sides of the unfixed form original and form are calculated. Then, a smaller ratio between he both is selected as the conversion magnification. Thus, a miss of copying is prevented. |
