Chair of the type comprising a fixed base and a sitting platform which can be tilted through the action of a jack (12). The said base and the said platform are articulated to each other along a shaft (4) forming the front side common to two concentric frames (1, 2). The first frame (1) being attached to the base and the second frame (2) being attached to the seat (8). Tilting of the seat (8) results from rotation of this shaft (4) through the action of the said jack (12) by means of a connecting rod (8) perpendicular to the said shaft (4). <IMAGE>
