PURPOSE:To enhance the combustion stability by furnishing a control device to work while the engine is operating at a low speed with light load, thereby supplying the fuel from the fuel injection valve immediately after completion of the suction stroke of a certain specified cylinder, and thus preventing variation of the air-to-fuel ratio. CONSTITUTION:No.1-No.4 fuel injection valves 13-16 are provided on suction passages for the cylinders. The early period of the suction stroke of a cylinder situated fore in the ignition sequence is overlapped with the ending period of the same stroke of its subsequent cylinder. Suction valve 11 of each cylinder opens at the I.O. point A deg. before the upper dead point of piston, and closes at the I.C. point B deg. after the lower dead point. Control device 23 works when the engine is operating at a low speed with light load to control the fuel injec tion so that the fuel is supplied from the fuel injection valve immediately after completion of the suction stroke of a certain specific cylinder. This will prevent variation of the air-fuel ratio one cycle after another, which should lead to enhancement of the combustion stability. |
