PURPOSE:To prevent contamination in a device and image staining by bringing a cleaning member formed as a rotating body into contact with an electrostatic latent image carrier at a specific position and acquiring residual toner on the carrier. CONSTITUTION:A negative voltage is applied from a voltage power source 30 to a scavenging member 22 by operating a switch SW to rotate the cleaning member 16 and scavenging member 22 as shown shown by arrows. Then, the polarity of the potential difference between the cleaning member 16 and scavenging member 22 is inverted, so toner and paper powder which are charged electrostatically and abnormally are recovered by the scavenging part 22 immediately, scraped by a blade 24, and recovered in a recovery member 26. |
