PURPOSE:To improve the sharpness of image by incorporating a planar silver halide emulsion having a relatively high average aspect ratio into a photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer furthest from a base and smoothing the outermost surface of a photosensitive photographic layer. CONSTITUTION:>=2 Layers of the layers contg. the photosensitive silver halide emulsion are formed on a base and the planar silver halide emulsion having >=50% of the total projecting area of the silver halide emulsion particles is incorporated into the photosensitive silver halide layer furthest from the base. The outermost surface of the photosensitive photographic layer is smoothly formed, by which the intended silver halide photosensitive material is obtd. The above-mentioned planar silver halide emulsion is obtd. By forming the seed crystal in which the planar particles exist at >=40wt% in the atmosphere of, for example, <=1.3 pBr and relatively high pAg value then growing the crystal while adding simultaneously silver and halogen soln. thereto. |
