MANUFACTURE OF QUARTZ GLASS

摘要

PURPOSE:To remove effectively the large particles contained in sol and to make the sol state after treatment constant in a manufacturing method of quartz glass by a sol-gel method by limiting the sol state in case of the centrifugal treatment while the period of sol manufacturing process. CONSTITUTION:In case of manufacturing quartz glass by a sol-gel method using alkylsilicate and pulverized silica as main raw material, the centrifugal separation of sol is performed by maintaining 10-50 deg.C sol temp. while the period of sol manufacturing process. Thereby the flocculated particles which become the cause of foreign matter contained in glass after the sintering and the large particles contg. plenty of impurities can be more effectively removed from the manufactured sol and the sol state after the treatment is approximately constant. Therefore the sintering time is almost constant and the high-quality glass having the same level is obtained.
