PURPOSE:To provide a cosmetic base, by washing the dried leaves of KUROHA- GINNANSO (Chondrus yendoi), AKAHA-GINNANSO (Chondrus ocellatus) or their mixture with water, immersing the leaves in water to reconstitute to raw algae, irradiating with ultraviolet radiation, and drying and pulverizing the product. CONSTITUTION:The KUROHA-GINNANSO, AKAHA-GINNANSO or their mixture (red algae produced in the coastal waters of HOKKAIDO Island, Japan) is dried, and the dried leaves are washed with water, and immersed in water for about 15min to reconstitute to raw algae. The product is irradiated with ultraviolet radiation, dried, and pulverized to obtain the objective cosmetic base. The UV-irradiation is carried out until the reconstituted leaves having wet surface becomes whitish (usually for 2-6hr). Dissolution of the resultant fine powder in water gives viscous liquid, which has lubricating and moistening effect to solften, tighten and smoothen the skin. |
