<p>The garment is laid flat and a number of shield elements shaped corresponding to a desired motif are positioned on the garment. A flexible substrate carrying a film of dye is pressed on the garment and heated so that the dye is transferred to the garment by sublimation. The areas of the garment protected by the shield elements remain unchanged, thus producing a pattern. The substrate may carry a single dye or several different coloured dyes. The method is cheap and simple.</p> |
